Okay, I know, there's more to Faery Music than this. So help me out, OK? I spend all my money on books and computer equipment :) If you buy CD's suggest some appropriate content here for us. Yes, Yes, I know, gotta get something out on Tori Amos and Loreena McKennit.
"Minstrels of Enchantment", Dragonfly Reel is driven by the enchanting, exotic fiddling of Terry Sindar, whose experimental style is derived not only from Mediterranean, Gypsy, Celtic and Appalachian traditional music, but also the guitar styles of rock legends such as Ritchie Blackmore and Tony Iommi; blended together and flavored with a hint of faerie majik. He is backed by danceable Middle Eastern hand percussion, and keyboards that provide the drone of bagpipes, bells, and woodwinds. Both the new release, "Minstrels of Enchantment", and the previous demo CD are available through Haunted Dreams Productions.
The Land of Faerie CD Darragh Nagle Truly -- "The Land of Faerie" CD is appropriate music for any kind of faerie working or meditation. It is really lovely, ethereal music. The rest is a delightful mix of pagan folk music. According to the note sent with the tapes, Darragh performed with Gwydion way back when. Darragh was kind enough to send me copies of these CDs and tapes for review -- unfortunately -- this means I don't really know where you can get them. Check with Serpentine Music, or in Circle.
"Songs for the Old Religion Gwydion Pendderwen "Songs for the Old Religion" is Gwydion Pendderwen's legendary compilation of Pagan songs. Back issues of Green Egg feature music and lyrics credited to Gwydion. Mundanely named Tom Delong, his death was a terrible blow to the greater Pagan community. He studied with Victor Anderson, and was highly influential in establishing the Feri tradition here in the US. Gwydion's music can be ordered online from Serpentine Music.
"Pick the Apple from the Tree", "Goddess Keep My Family" is the favorite track off that CD around here.
